RESOLUTION NO. - /-
RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
-on the 12th-day of November, 1935, passed its Resolution of
Intention No. 921, to order the hereinafter improvement to be
made and public work to be done in the city of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, after the passage and adoption of Resolution
of Intention No. 921, the Street Superintendent of the City of
Newport Beach caused to be conspicuously posted along the line
of the contemplated work and improvement at not more than three
hundred feet (3001) in distance apart, and one hundred thirty-
eight (138) in all, notices of the passage of said Resolution of
Intention, headed "NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORK ", in the manner, form
and substance as required by law, and said Street Superintendent
also caused a notice similar in substance to be published for a
period of four (4) weeks, in NEWPORT NEWS, a weekly newspaper, print-
ed, published and circulated.in the city of Newport Beach, and
named by said City Council in said Resolution of Intention as
the paper in which said notice should appear, all as appears .from
the affidavit of S'.. A. MEYER, of the printers and publisher of
said weekly newspaper, and which affidavit was filed in the office
of the Clerk of the city of Newport Beach on the 10th day of
J)a CC'ln PO :60 , 1935, and is now on file therein; and
WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of
Newport Beach commenced the posting of the notice hereinbefore
referred to on the 19th day of November, 1935, and fully completed
the posting thereof on the 19th day of November, 1935, as appears
from the affidavit of John A. Siegel, Assistant Street Superin-
tendent of the city of Newport Beach, and more than ten (10)

4 to the proposed work or improvement might be made by any person
5 interested objecting to said work or improvement, or to the
6 extent of the district or lands to be affected or benefited
-- - - -7 by said work -or improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs
8 and expenses thereof; and
9 WHEREAS, certain written objections to the work or
10 improvement and to the extent of the district of lands'to be
11 affected or benefited by said work or improvement, and to be
12 assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, were filed and
13 delivered to the City Clerk of the city of Newport Beach, within
14 ten days after the expiration of the time of the publication
15 of said notice, and said City Clerk of the City of-Newport Beach
16 did thereupon endorse on said written objections the dates of
17 their .reception by him, and did, at the next meeting of the
18 City Council of the City of Newport Beach, after the expiration
19 of said ten days, to -wit, on the 23rd day of December, 1935,
20 lay said objections before said City Council; that the City
21 Council thereupon fixed the 3rd day of February, 1936, at
22 the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M. at the Council Chambers of
23 the City Council, located in the City Hall in the city of Newport
24 Beach, California, as the time and place for hearing said
25 objections, and also ordered that the City Clerk of the City
26 of Newport Beach notify all persons making such objections of
27 the time and place of said hearing, in the manner required by
28 law; and
29 WHEREAS, all persons making such objections were duly
30 and regularly notified in the manner provided by law of the time
31 and place of hearing said objections; and

All that portion of Narcissus Avenue, formerly
known as 40th Avenue, as said 40th Avenue is laid out and
shown upon a map of Corona Del Mar, recorded in Book 3,
pages 41 and 42 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange s/•
County, California, lying northwesterly of a line five (5)
feet southeasterly of and parallel with the center line of
said Narcissus Avenue, and between the northe"sterly pro-
longation of the southwesterly line of Block A -40, as shown
on said map of Corona Del Mar, and the southeasterly pro-
longation of the northeasterly line of said Block A -40. --/

All that portion of Marigold Avenue, formerly
known as 39th Avenue, as said 39th Avenue is laid out
and shown upon a map of Corona Del Mar, recorded in Book 3,
pages 41 and 42 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
County, California, lying between the northeasterly line of
Ocean Avenue and the southwesterly line of Ocean Boulevard,
as said Ocean Avenue and Ocean Boulevard are shown on said
map of Corona Del Mar.
MARGUERITE AVENUE.
All that portion of Marguerite Avenue, formerly
known as Pier Avenue, as said Pier Avenue is laid out and
shown upon a map of Corona Del Mar, recorded in Book 3,
pages 41 and 42 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
County, California, lying between the northeasterly line
of Ocean Avenue, and the southwesterly line of Ocean
Boulevard as said Ocean Avenue and Ocean Boulevard are i
shown on said map of Corona Del Mar.
LARKSPUR AVENUE..
All that portion of Larkspur Avenue, formerly
known as 37th Avenue, as said 37th Avenue is laid out
and shown upon a map ofCorona Del Mar, recorded in Book
3, pages 41 and 42 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
Orange County, California, lying between the southwesterly
line of Ocean Boulevard, as said Ocean Boulevard is laid out
and shown upon said map of Corona Del Mar, and a straight
line extending from the southeasterly corner of Lot 17,
Block A -37, as shown on said map of Corona Del Mar, to the
southwesterly corner'of Lot 18, Block A -38, as shown on said
map of Corona Del Mar.

All of which is more clearly shown on a certain map
approved and adopted by the City Council of the city of Newport
Beach for said abandonment by Resolution No. � Z D on the
/ ?, txI
Aft day of November, 1935.
The public work ordered and the improvement to be
made is for the purpose of closing up and abandoning portions
of - eertafn- streets-and -al-k-eys -in- the ^dity - of Newport Beach as
hereinbefore described, and for that reason no district is
chargeable for costs in connection therewith.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in
pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated "Street Opening Act of 1889", and amendments thereto.
For further particulars reference is hereby made to
said Resolution of Intention No. 921, which is dated the 12th
day of November, 1935, and on file with the Clerk of the City
of Newport Beach.
The Clerk of the city of Newport Beach is herewith
instructed to record a copy of this Resolution Ordering Improve -
ment in the office of the County Recorder of the County of
Orange, State of California.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
ordering Improvement No. 43 6 was duly introduced and
regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3r&
day of 1T ;ear -Zuarg,1936, by the following vote, too -wit:
