RESOLUTION NO. Ip ,Q- a
WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain Fuel 011 Contract
by and between the Standard 011 Company of California therein
referred to as Seller, and the City of Newport Beach, therein
referred to as Buyer; and
WHEREAS, said contract provides that the seller sells
to the buyer and the buyer buys from the seller, for a period
of six months from January 1, 1940 to June 30, 1940, all Diesel
Fuel up to and not exceeding, except at Seller's option, a total
of Four thousand (4000) gallons, which may be required by Buyer
for diesel equipment located at the City of Newport Beach
Maintenance Yard, said oil to be of Seller's Commercial grade
STANDARD DIESEL FUEL conforming to Pacific Specification No. 200,
said oil to be delivered by Seller on the orders of Buyer by tank
truck in lots of not less than 40 gallons each to Buyer's storage,
at the prices in said contract set forth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
deems that it is for the best interests and advantage of said
City of Newport Beach that said Diesel Fuel be purchased from
the Standard 011 Company of California, at the prices and upon
the terms and conditions in said contract set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and City
Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
directed, instructed and authorized to execute said Fuel 011
Contract in the name of and on behalf of the city of Newport
Beach, and the City Clerk shall deliver a duly executed copy
thereof to the Seller in said Contract named.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of
