WHEREAS, a certain Grant Deed dated the day of

February, 1940, from the City of Newport Beach, a Municipal

Ruby

corporation, to Ruby Suman, a single woman, granting to said
5
Suman all that certain real property situated in the City of New.
6
port Beach, County of Orange, State of California, and more
7
particularly described as follows:

That portion of Lots 1 and 2 in Block "R" of Tract No. 323,
as per map recorded in Book 14, pages 40 and 41 of Miscellaneous
9
Maps, Records of said County, described as follows:

Beginning at a point in the Coast Boulevard street line,
said point being located at a distance of 220 feet in a North -
11
erly direction along said street line from the southerly corner
of Lot 5 in Block "R" of saldTract No. 323, said southerly
12
corner being the intersection of Coast Boulevard and Marguerite
Avenue; thence in a northerly direction along the Coast Boule-
13
vard street line a distance of 50 feet; thence in an Easterly
direction along a line parallel with the northerly line of said
14
Lot 1 to a point in the rear Lot line of said Lot 1; thence
Southeasterly along the rear lot line of Lots 1 and 2 to a
15
point of intersection with a line drawn from the point of
beginning Northeasterly and parallel with the Northerly line
of said Lot 2; thence southwesterly to the point of beginning.

was presented to the City Council of the City of Newport Beach; an

WHEREAS, the City Council deems that the consideration
,19
offered for said Grant Deed is fair, just and adequate and not
20
disproportionate to the actual value of said property; and
21
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
22
deems that it is for the best interests of said City that said
23
Grant Deed be executed in favor of Ruby Suman by the Mayor and Cit
24
Clerk of said City.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
26
City Clerk of thecity of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
27
directed, authorized and instructed to execute said Grant Deed
28
on behalf of the City of Newport Beach, and the City Clerk is
29
instructed to deliver the same to Ruby Suman.
