CALIF. � I l b RESOLUTION NOS RESOLUTION FIXING POLLING PLACES, APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICERS, AND ESTABLISHING RULES FOR CITY EMPLOYEES' ELECTION ON THE QUESTION OF PARTICIPATING UNDER THE CALIFORi1IA STATE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT ACT. The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby resolve and order as follows: Section 1: That pursuant to the provisions of subdivision 1, of Section 38c, of the California State Employees' Retirement Act, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby establish and fix Monday', . February 19 1945, between the hours of 3:00 o'clock P. M., and 5:00 o'clock P. M., of said day, as the date and time for holding the employees' election provided in said subdivision 1, of Section 38o, of said Act, and does hereby estab- lish and fix the City Council Chambers, located at and in the City Hall of the City of Newport Beach, in the City of Newport Beach, as the polling place for said election. Section 2. There shall be three ballot boxes available at said polling place, one ballot box to be used exclusively for the deposit of ballots oast by the members of the Newport Beach Police Department, the second ballot box to be used exclusively for the deposit of ballots cast by the members of the Newport Beach Fire Department, and the third ballot box shall be used exclusively for ballots cast by all other voting employees of the City of Newport f= ZTVNIT Section 3. The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, sitting as a body be, and the same hereby is, declared to be the election officers who shall conduct said election and who shall count and tally the ballots and determine the results of said election. Section 4. Votes may be oast at any time on the date above fixed between the hours of 3.00 o'clock P. IA., and 15!00 o'clock P. —1— i. The ballots of the members of the Police Department of the City of Newport Beach shall be kept separate from the ballots of the Fire Department, and shall be kept separate from the ballots of other City Employees, and shall be tallied separately, with the votes of all members of the Police Department being tallied and counted together, with the votes of all members of the Fire Department being tallied and counted together, and the votes of all other Cit employees counted and tallied together. Section 5. The City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach shall furnish the City Council, sitting as election officers, with a list of all those employees of the City of Newport Beach who are qualified electors in said election. Section 6. When the votes have been counted, the City Council, sitting as an election board, shall then determine the results of the election solar as the members of the Police Depart- ment are concerned and shall then determine the results of the election sofar as the members of the Fire Department are concerned, and also sofar as other City employees, not including members of the Police Department and Fire Department.
