RESOLUTION NO.dI7
WHEREAS, one Millard F. Watrous, a married man, has
offered to the City of Newport Beach the sum of 8125.00 for Lot
8, Block 1, Tract 919, in the City of Newport Beach, as shown on
a Map recorded in Book 29, pages 31 to 34 of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of Orange County, California; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach by Resolution No,
3168, duly passed and adopted,, accepted said offer of Millard F.
Watrous, a married man; and
WHEREAS, said Millard F. Watrous has only paid on
account of the purchase price aforesaid, the sum of $12.50, and
has refused to pay the balance of $112,50, for the reason that
the Building Inspector will not allow him to live in a tent -house
on the property,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That said Resolution
No, 3168 aforesaid, be and the same is hereby rescinded and
declared of no further force or effect for any purpose whatever.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the sale of said property
heretofore mentioned, to the said Millard F. Watrous, be, and the
same is hereby cancelled as of this date, and the moneys hereto-
fore paid thereon by the said Millard F. Watrous to the City of
Newport Beach, are hereby declared to be fcrefeited to the said
City of Newport Beach for the fails of said Millard F. Watrous
to pay the balance of said purchase price aforesaid.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing resolutio
was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of
The City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 28th day of May, 1945,
