RESOLUTION WO
WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain Oib and Gas Lease
dated the day of July, 1945, by and between City of Newport
Beach, a municipal corporation, in said lease designated "Lessor",
and Loren L. Hillman, Inc., a California corporation, in said
lease designated "Lessee "; and
WHEREAS, said Oil and Gas lease refers to the leasing of
certain city -owned property to the said -named Lessee for oil
development purposes, which said properties are more particularly
described as follows, to-wit:

"All those certain pieces or parcels of land
situated in the County of Orange, State of
California, and more particularly described as
follows, to-wit:
"All that property situate in Section 8, Town-
ship 6 South, Range 10 West, S.B.B.& M., described
as follows:
"Commencing at a 4x4 post at the Northwest corner
of said Section 89 running thence East 38.80 chains;
thence South 70 Nest 21.48 chains; thence South
70 Nest 18.76 chains; thence Nest 33.28 chains to
the Nest Section line of said Section 8; thence
North 40 chains to the point of beginning, con-
taining about 143.97 acres.
EXCEPTING AND RESERVING THEREF'M the following
described tract: Commencing at the point where
the South line of the Northwest quarter of Section
8, Township 6 South, Range 10 Nest, intersects the
Eastern boundary of the Rancho Las Bolsas; running
thence North 70 East along said boundary line 2625
feet; thence South 880 451 Nest 859 feet; thence
South 310 301 East 463 feet; thence South 2° Nest
635 feejr. thence South 260 Nest 367.3 feet; thence
South 674 301 West 283 feet; thence South 430 301
^Jest 236 feet; thence South 270 45t Nest 697 feet;
thence South 30 West 361 feet to the South line of
the N rthwest quarter of said Section 8; thence East
1258,9 feet to the point of beginning, containing
50.91 acres of land.
Containing 93.06 acres, more or less.
WHEREAS in the opinion and judgment of the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach, the considerations offered for the
giving of said lease to Lessee are fair, just and adequate, and
that it would be for the best interests of said City that said

Lease be given to said Lessee upon the terms, conditions and cove-
nants thereiai set forth;
NOW9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be authorized, directed and
instructed to execute said lease in duplicate on behalf of the
City of Newport Beach; and that one executed copy thereof be
filed in the records of the City Clerk of said City of Newport
Beach, and that the other copy thereof be held by the City of
Newport Beach under Escrow Instructions this day approved by said
City and the said Lessee, until drilling operations have been
actually commenced by Lessee under the terms and conditions of said
lease.
