RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, a petition requesting the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Newport Beach: NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH as follows: 1. That it is proposed to annex to the City of Newport Beach, California, that certain territory contiguous to the City boundaries and described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the mean high tide line of the Pacific Ocean with the Southeasterly line of Block "D" of "Tract No. 673, Corona Del Mar ", as shown on a Map recorded in Book 20, pages 17 and 18 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, Cali- fornia, and running thence North 21 deg. 24 min. 30 sec. East along the Easterly line of said Tract No. 673, 200 feet, more or less, to an angle point in said line which is South 7 deg. 47 min. East 289.4 f set from the most Southerly corner of Lot Seventy -three (73) in Block "A" of said Tract No. 673; thence following the meander sur- vey of the Southeasterly side of said Tract No. 673 North 7 deg. 47 min. West 289.40 feet; thence North 52 deg. 28 min. 30 sec. East 269.89 feet; thence South 80 deg. 51 min. 30 sec. East 99.96 feet; thence North 55 deg. 08 min. 30 sec. West 156.00 feet, more or less, to mean high tide of the Pacific Ocean; thence meandering said high tide line Northwesterly a distance of 1300 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, containing 49.32 acres, being a portion of Block Ninety -five (95) of Irvine's Subdivision of Ranchos San Joaquin and Lomas de San- tiago and Flint and Bixby's Allotment in Rancho San- tiago de Santa Ana, as per map recorded in Book 1, page 88 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California. The bearings of this survey are taken from the State Highway. Therefore there is an equasion of courses. Tract No. 673 first course North 21 deg. 23 min. East equals North 21 deg. 24 min. 30 sec. East of this survey. 2. That said territory lies adjacent to and Easterly of that section of the City of Newport Beach known as Corona Del Mar and between the Coast Highway and the Ocean, and comprises approx- imately 49.32 acres. 3. That notice is further hereby given that the 7th day of January, 1946, at the hour of 4:00 o'clock P. rd. of said day, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Newport Beach, is the time and place when and where any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed and hav- ing any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed. 4. That upon such annexation the City shall: (a) At such time hereafter as the final map of said subdivision is approved and filed accept the dedication of the streets contained within the area of said subdivision. (b) Approve said subdivision and plan of development as set forth. (c) Within a period of G months from the date of e4 .a.%•je ,wJ �. (d)_ months Prom the date of annexation extend the City's water line to the boundary of the proposed annexation, in order that connection may be made there- with by the subdivider for the supplying of water to said sub- division. (e) Said City shall not levy or assess any taxes against the annexed territory to pay for any present outstanding bonded debt on said City of Newport Beach. (f) Zone said above described annexed property as indi- cated on the attached tentative map, i.e., the Highway frontage for business, the balance for single- family dwellings. The City Clerk shall cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once a week for two successive weeks in the Newport- Balboa News- 11mes, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Newport Beach, California. On motion of Councilman Allen , seconded by Council man StinlPy , the foregoing resolution was introduced and passed by the Council of the City of Newport Beach at a regular ad- journed meeting held on the 17th day of December, 1945, and adopted by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Allen, Stanley, Isbell, weed, Hall.
