RESOLUTION NO.jj��
WHEREAS, sewage from several cities and districts of
Orange County is now being collected and treated and the sewage
effluent discharged into the Pacific Ocean through the Orange
County joint outfall sewer; and
WHEREAS, the enlargement and extension of said outfall
sewer is necessary to proper6 serve the communities now using
said outfall; and
WHEREAS, other communities are in need of sanitary
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the disposal of sewage effluent into".the
ocean should be properly planned and controlled so as to protect
public and private beaches; and
WHEREAS, the future growth of Orange County requires
immediate action in the development of a comprehensive sanitation
plan for the county and the formation of an agency to carry out
such a plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach recommends to the Honorable Board of
Supervisors of Orange County that they employ a competent sanitary
engineer to make a study of the sanitary problems and prepare a
comprehensive plan of sewage treatment and disposal for the County
of Orange.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach at a special meeting thereof held on the 26th day
of December, 1945, by the following vote, to -wit:
