WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City

Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain Grant Deed executed

1 by LOUIS BRIGGS and KASSA BAILEY BRIGGS, husband and wife, to the

City of Newport Beach, a municipal corporation, covering that certail
5
property described as follows:

All that portion of Block "E" of the Balboa Tract, as per
map thereof recorded in Book 4, at page 11, of Miscellaneous
7
Maps, records of said Orange County, described as beginning
16
at the point of intersection of the Southerly line of Surf
8
Avenue with the Westerly line of "A" Street, and running
real property the sum of $270.00, which sum of money is, in the
thence Southerly along the Westerly line of "A" Street to
9
the Southerly line of said Block "E "; thence Westerly along
said Southerly line, being along the meander line of the
10
Government Survey of the lands of which said Block "E" is

a part, 54 feet to the point of intersection of the Westerly
11
line of Lot 15 in Block 12 of said Balboa Tract, if extended
Beach, the fair market value of said property:
Southerly; thence Northerly on said extenced line to the
12
Southerly line of Surf Avenue; thence Easterly 54 feet to
the point of beginning.

EXCEPTING any portion of said land, which at any time was

tide land which was not formed by the deposit of alluvion
from natural causes and by imperceptible degrees.

and,
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has agreed to pay for sail
16
real property the sum of $270.00, which sum of money is, in the
17
opinion and judgement of the City Council of the City of Newport
18
Beach, the fair market value of said property:

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said Grant Deed covering
20
21
said real property be and the same is hereby accepted by the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach and the City Clerk is authorize
22
directed and instructed to immediately record said deed when title
23
24
shall show clear and free in said City, subject only to taxes for
25
the fiscal year 1949 -50, not yet due or payable.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
27
regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
28
Newport Beach at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the

28th day of February, 1949, by the following vote, to -wit:
