AWARDING A CONTRACT VOR`M ADDITION TO AND RENOVATION OF
THE NEWPORT BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY AND
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT THEREOF
WHEP,EAS, pursuant to Notice Inviting Bids for the
constriction of an addition to and renovation of the Newport
Beach Public Library, heretofore duly given, sealed proposals and
bids thereof were duly received and subsequently opened at the
time and place set for said proposal and it appears that the low -
est regular and responsible bidder is IRVIN GEO. GORDON & SON;
and
WHEREAS, there has been duly presented to the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain Agreement dated
the day of January, 1952, by and between said Irvin Goo.
Gordon A Son, as Party of the First Part, and the City of Newport
Beach, as Party of the Second Part, providing for the construc-
tion of said addition to and renovation of the said Library;
IOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the bid of said
Irvin Geo. Gordon & Son, for the construction of an addition to
and renovation of the Newport Beach Public Library, in the City
of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, for the
total sum of $39.908.0% be and the same Is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a contract for said con-
structlon in accordance with the plans and specifications on
file with the City Clerk of the said City at said price of
$39,908.00, be and the same to hereby awarded to said Irvin Geo.
Gordon do Son; and
BE IT FUFCM RESOLVED, that the Mayor said the City
Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and instructed to ex-
eoute said agreement in the name of and for and on behalf of
the City of Newport Beach and that the City Clerk furnish a duly
executed copy thereof to said Irvin Geo. Gordon k Son.
