RESOLUTION N0: 3995
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that the Newport Harbor Chamber of Commerce, a non
profit corporation, by reason of its facilities for the dissemi-
nation of information concerning the City of Newport Beach, is
an appropriate medium for the advertising and promotion of the
City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, said Newport Harbor Chamber of Commerce is
willing to act as the advertising agent of the City of Newport
Beach in consideration of the payment by the City of Newport
Beach to said Newport Harbor Chamber of Commerce, of the sum of
$1,300.00 per month; and
WHEREAS, the payment of said sum is commensurate with
the services to be performed by said Newport Harbor Chamber of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, it appears for the best interest of the City of
Newport Beach that an agreement be entered into for said pur-
pose,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City
of Newport Beach and the City Clerk of the City of Newport
Beach be and they hereby are authorized and directed to enter
into an agreement in writing by and between the Newport Harbor
Chamber of Commerce, a non - profit corporation, and the City of
Newport Beach, wherein and whereby for and in consideration of
payment by said City of Newport Beach to said corporation of the
sum of $1,300.00 on the 1st day of August, 1952 and a like sum
of $1,300.00 on the 1st day of each and every month thereafter
until and including the 1st day of July, 1953. Said corporation
shall act as the advertising agent of said City and shall prepar
and disseminate, at the expense of said corporation, descriptive
literature and other material publicizing the City of Newport
for a period of twelve months commencing on said 1st day of

July, 1952.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 8th day of
September, 1952, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Miller, Finch, and Horvath
NOES, COUNCILMEN: Smith
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: Isbell
