HomeMy WebLinkAbout4002 - Street Lighting System - Tract 10111 2 3 • 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 • 28 • 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. 4002 ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGE TO BE PAID FOR FOLLO ?•LING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 9th day of July, 1951 adopt Resolution of Intention No. 4000 for the construction and installation of a street lighting system for Tract No. 1011 in the City of Newport Beach, California; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California, it is necessary that the C Council of the City of Newport Beach ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of wages on public works; and by the provisions of said Code, it is mandatory upon the awarding body of any public improvement to ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each carft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate for legal holidays and overtime work for each craft or type of workman or mechanic. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach has ascertained and does hereby determine that the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which the said work described is to be performed in Tract No. 1011 in the City of Newport Beach, California, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract and also the general prevailing rate for legal holidays and overtime work for each craft or type of workman or mechanic, to be as follows: . 1 • 2 3 • 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 • 29 30 31 32 Classification Hourly Wage Air compressor operator . . . . . . . . . . . Any classification omitted herein, not less than $ 2,05 2.35 1.75 1.95 2.40 2.15 2.38 2.30 2.38 1.83 1.85 2.75 2.38 2.75 2.75 1.67 All foremen not herein separately classified shall be paid not less than 17 -1/2 cents per hour more than the journeyman rate for the craft involved. Provided that one and one -half (1'k) times the said pre- vailing rate of wage shall be paid for any time more than eight (8) hours during any one (1) calendar day where such work is required in cases of extraordinary emergency caused by fire, flood or danger to life or property and for time on Sundays and seven (7) legal holidays, to -wit: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
