A RESOLUTION OF TN's CITY COUIMIL OF My CITY OF MPORT BEACH,
ORDERING THE SUBMISSION To THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF N - "TOAT BEAM

WHEREAS, Section 1 of Ordinance No. 380 of the City of
Newport Beach provides for a 30 per j100.00 assessed valuation of
all taxable property in the City of Newport Beach for park pur-
poses; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the said ]svying of 34 per $10D I00
has not raised sufficient funds for the adequate creation and mall -
tenance of parks; and
WHEREAS, it appears that it would be advisable to sub-
spit to the voters of the City of Newport Beach the question of
whether or not said 30 per $100.00 levy should be increased from
30 per 4100.00 to „�o �f per 8100.00;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS;
SYOTION 1: That at the general municipal election to
be held in the City of Newport Beach on the 13th day of April,
1954, there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of said
City the proposition of amending section 1 of Urdinance Ho. 360
of the City of Newport Beach so as to permit the levy and oollec-
%ion for the purpose of providing and maintaining parks in the
City of Newport beach, for each fiscal year, of a tax up to a
maximum of _1, on each X100.00 of the assessed valuation of
all taxable property within the Clt, of Newport Beach.
SECTION 2: That said proposition shall be submitted
to the qualified electors of s&1d City at said election by a pro-
position to be worded as follows:

14 SECTION 3« If a majority of the electors voting at su4b
15 election shall vote in favor of the foregoing proposition, then
is said ordinance shall be passed as provided for by said proposi-
17 tion No. 2.
18 SECTION 4i :he City Council of the City of Newport
19 Beach shall oause the City Clerk to )rint this ordinance and
20 maul copies thereof, enclosed in an envelope with a sample ballot;
21 to each voter at least 10 days prier to the election.
22 The above and foregoing Nesclutiou was duly and regul-
23 arly passed and adopted by the City Council of the city of Newpor'
24 Beach, at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 23rd day of
25 rebru".ry, 1954, by the following vote, to wits

regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said
City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the
