HomeMy WebLinkAbout4221 - Ocean Front Vacation & Abandonment0 0 RBSOLUTIOt OF INTENTION N0. -2 � I A RFSOLUTIOY OF INTJ=ION.OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS Ii TENTION TO ORU ;i: THE 2 CLOSIRG UP VACATION AND_ALWDOEMENT OF A PORTION OF A 5TRZ6T DESiGNATBD AS OCEAN FRONT IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT 3 REACH, COUNTY u F ORANGE, STATE: OF CALIFORNIA, 4 The City Council of the City of Newport Beaehs puraviant to 5 the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941 ", and all 6 amendments thereto, being Sections 8300 through 8331 of the Street 7 and Highways Code, does hereby ordain, resolve and declare as fol 8 Iowa- 9 SECTION 1: That the public interest and convenience require 10 the closing up and abandonment of a part of a portion of a street 11 in the City of Newport Beach, and it is the intention of the City 12 Council of the City of Newport Beach to order the following de- 13 scribed portion of said street in said City of Newport - s'eachs 14 County of Oranges State of California, to be vacated, closed up, 15 and abandoned, to wit: is Beginning at the most southerly corner of Lot 17 17 Block C of Seashore Colony Tract as said Tract is shown upon a map recorded in Miscellansous Map Book 7, Page 18 259 Records of Orange County, California; thence north- westerly along the southwesterly line of said Lot 1 to 19 the most westerly corner of said Lot 11 thence south- westerly along the southwesterly prolongation of the 20 north westerly line of said Lot 1 to an intersection with a line lying southwesterly of, parallel to, and 21 distant 15 feet from the southwesterly line of said Lot 11 thence southeasterly along said parallel line to an 22 intersection with the southwesterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of said Lot 11 thence northeasterly 23 along said southeasterly prolongation to the point of beginning. 24 Said portion of said street to be vacated, closed up and 25 abandoned is more clearly shown on a certain map approved and 28 adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach for said 27 vacation, closing up and abandonment, by Resolution dated March 28 22nd, 1954, and designated "Resolution No. y22a "s which said 29 Map is on file in the office of the City Clerk cf the City of New - 30 port Beach. Reference is hereby made to said Map for further par - 31 oculars as to the proposed vacations closing up and abandonment 32 of said portion of said street, and said map is made a p =art of -1- • 1 this Resolution to the same extent and purpose as ift__Xw same 2 were herein incorporated iii -full. • 3 SL'CTI0N 2: That the proceedings for the closing up and 4 abandonment of the aforesaid portion of said street shall be had 5 and taken, and the City Council of the City of Newport Beach here - 6 by elects to proceed under the provisions of the said "Street 7 Vacation Act of 194111, and all amendments thereto$ being Sections 8 8300 through 8331 of the Utreets and Highways Code of the State 9 of California. 10 SECTION 31 The Street Superintendent of the City of Newpor 11 Beach shall cause to be posted conspicuously along the line of th 12 portion of said street proposed to be vacated$ not more than 3CO 13 feet apartl but not less than three in allg notices of the vaca- 14 tion of said portion of said street. ..paid notices shall state th 15 preparation of this Resolution of Intention and the time and plae 16 of the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to the 17 proposed vacation of said portion of said street. 18 SECTION 4a Notice is hE *reby given that the City Council of 19 the City of Newport Beach does hereby fix Monday$ the -2(�r4 day of 20 G � 1954, at the hour of 7330 p.m# of said day, in the 21 Council Chambers of the City of Newport Beachs located in the City 22 Hall of the City of Newport Beaeht as the time and place for hear- 23 ing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacatic 24 of said portion of said street; and the said City Council of the 25 said City of Newport Beach at said time and ;:lace will hear the 26 evidence offered by any person interested in the vacation of said 27 portion of :;aid street heretofore described. 0 28 SECTION 51 This Resolution of Intention shall be published • 29 at least once in the Newport - Balboa Press, a newspaper of general 30 circulations printedp published and circulated in the City of New. 31 port Beachp and said publication shall ire made prior to the date 32 set for the hearing of all persons interested In or objecting to -2- I • 2 • 3 4 5 6 7 8 is is 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 G b the proposed vacation.
