HomeMy WebLinkAbout4238 - Cooper Annexation1 L 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 rq ".`1 1 4y �1 i A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ANNEX AND GIVINO NOTICE THEREOF WHEREAS, there is situated outside and contiguous to the City of Newport Beach a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter more particularly described; and WHEREAS, the owners of said parcel have expressed them- solves as desirous of having the same annexed with the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, it would be for the best interests for the City of Newport Beach and its citizens for the City of Newport Beach to annex the said hereinafter described property; and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach did, on or about March 249 1954, submit to the Orange County Boundary Commission a legal description and plat of said hereinafter described.uninhab- ited area for its approval, pursuant to Section 35002 of the Gov- ernment Code of the State of California; and WHMEA39 on April 12, 19549 there was filed with the City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach an approval by said Orange County Boundary Commission, under the provisions of said Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RErSOLVE3), by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that the following declarations and Inotiee be made and givens IT IS HEREBY DECLARIA, that proceedings have been initi- ated by the said City of Newport Beach, a City of the 6th Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter described, which said real property is contiguous to the present boundaries of said City of Newport Beach, and which property is, at the present.time, completely uninhabited. NOTICE IS HOBBY GIVBN that it is proposed by said City Hof Newport Beach to annex the hereinafter described real property to the City of Newport Beachp which said real property shall, in -1- 1 2 3 L 4 5 6 7 s 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 these proceedings, bear the name Cooper Annex. The specific description of the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed is as followss Beginning at the intersection of the City of Newport Beach boundary with the Northwesterly line of Har- bor Island Road, as deeded to the County of Orange, June 11 1936, and recorded in Book 830, Page 217 of Official Records of said Orange County, California; thence Northeasterly along the said Northwesterly line of Harbor Island Road to a point 121.61 North- easterly of ordinary high tide line of the Pacific Ocean in Newport Bay, as established by Decree in Court Case No. 20436 of the Superior Court in and for Orange County, Californiag thence Southeasterly along a line measured at right angles to the said Northwesterly line of harbor Island Road 89.00' to the beginning of a curve concave Southwesterly, having a radius of 29.001; thence Southeasterly along said curve through an angle of 450 21' 21 "1 a distance of 22098' to an intersection with the Southwesterly line of Bayside Drive, said south- westerly line of Bayside Drive being on a curve concave Northeasterly and having a radius of 380.00'. The radial line of said 380.00' radius curve being the same as the radial line of the hereinbefore mentioned 29.00' radius curve; thence Southeasterly along the last mentioned curve through an angle of 450 21' 21 ", a distance of 300081' to the and of said curve said end of curve being in the city boundary of the City of Newport Beach; thence North 710 541 80" West along the City of Newport Beach boundary to the Northwesterly corner of Beacon Bay as shown on a Record of Survey as filed in Book 9, Page 43 of Records of Survey of said Orange County; thence South 23° 57' 30" West along the City of Newport Beach boundary and along the Northwesterly line of Beacon Bay 317.57' more or less to the Westerly corner of Lot 62 of said Beacon Bay; thence North 390 481 0011 West along the said City of New- port Beach boundary to the point of beginning. FURTHER NOTICE IS HESEBY GIVEN, that on Monday, the 14th day of June, 1954, at the hour of 7230 P.M. on said day, or as so thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Newport Beach, 3300 West Newport Boulevard, Newport Beach, California, a hearing will be had at which hearing any person owning any real property within the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed, as describ above, may appear and object to the proposed annexation and show cause, why such territory should not be so annexed.
