WHEREAS, on the 13th day of September, 1954, Norman Miller

being then a councilman of the City of Newport Beach, submitted
•

his resignation to the Council as such councilman; and
4
WHEREAS, on said date said resignation was accepted; and
5
WHEREAS, the remaining members of the City Council of said
6
Newport Beach are unable to agree on an appointment of a new
7
councilman to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of
S
said Norman Miller;
9
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a special election is
10
hereby called and set for the seventh day of December, 1954, at
11
which time there shall be presented to the electors of the City
12
of Newport Beach the question to be voted on of the selection of
13
a councilman of said City to fill the said existing vacancy..
14
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of
15
Newport Beach be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
16
take all steps necessary to the calling and holding of the said
17
special election.

The above and foregoing Resolution-was duly and regularly
19
passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport
20
Beach at an adjourned regular meeting thereof, held on the 13th
21
day of October, 1954, by the following vote, to wit:

AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hill, Broering, Smith, Bennett
23
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None
