RESOLUTION NO.-�7`-
RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF SPECIAL
ANNEYATION ELECTION OF HARBOR HIGHLANDS
ANNEX TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT REACH.
WHEREAS, a special annexation election was held and
conducted in the County of Orange, State of California, on
Tuesday, the 14th day of February, 1955, pursuant to the pro-
visions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
known as the "Annexation Act of 1913 and
WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was
duly and regularly given] that a voting precinct was properly
established; that election officers were appointed and election
supplies furnished and that in all respects said election was
held and conducted and votes cast thereat received and canvassed
and the returns thereof made and declared in time, form and manner
as required by the laws of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the,City of taewport Beach
met at the Council Chambers of the City Council on the 20th day
of February, 1955, at the hour of seven- thirty o'clock p.m.
of said day to canvass the returns of said election, as a result
of which the City Council of said City finds and determines that
the number of votes cast and other matters required by law to be
hereinafter stated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said special
annexation election was held and conducted in the County of Orange
on Tuesday, the 14th day of February, 1955, in time, form and
manner as required by law; that there was one (1) voting precinct
established for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of
a regular election precinct established for holding state or
county elections, as follows, to wits

That the proposition submitted, the total number of votes
cast in the territory, and the number of votes cast for and
against the annexation, are as follows, to wits
1. That the total number of votes cast at said
election was 1�3 .
2. That the following is a statement of the proposition
voted on and thei. total number of votes received for and against
said proposition.
"Mall Husbor Highlands Annex be annexed to,
Incorporated in and made a part of the City of
Newport Beach and the property In such territory
bit, after such annexation, subject to taxation
equally with the property within the City of Newport
Beach, to pay the entire bonded indebtedness of the
City of Newport Beach outstanding or authorized at
the date of the first publication of the notice of
election for annexation, for the acquisition, con-
struction or completion of municipal improvements;"

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said proposition for annex -
ing Harbor Highlands Annex to the City of Newport Beach under the
terms contained in the aforesaid proposition, having received a
majority of all the votes cat at said election, be and the same
Is hereby declared carried.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and
regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof, held on Bse 20th day
of February, 1956, by the following vote, to wit:
