RESOLUTIONI NO. 'lA 3
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA STATE
PARK COMISSION TO AUT14ORIZE RETURN TO THE
CITY OF UNEXPENDED FUNDS FOR ACQUISITION OF
PRIVATE PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE CORONA DEL
NAR STATE AND CITY BEACH PARK.
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach, in September, 1955,
contributed to the State of California City funds in the amount of
,000.00 to be used by the State in the acquisition of privately-
12 owned land in Blocks A -34 and A-35, Corona del Mar, for inclusion
13 in the Corona del Mar State and City Beach Parks and
14 WHEREAS, acquisition of said lands has progressed to the
15 point that State officials have determined that a
portion of the
16 City funds previously contributed may be refunded without jeopardy
17 to the State's acquisition program for the Park; and
18 WHEREAS, the City has urgent need for such refund to make
19 ossible Imisediate acquisition of private property, the impending
20 improvement of which would prevent accomplishment of approved plans
21 or i-ature development of the Parks
22 NOW, TMWORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
23 the City of Newport Beach hereby requests that the California State
24 Park Commission, at its meeting on January 17, 1958, authorize re-
25 fund to the City of the available balance of unexpended City funds
26 previously contributed for additions to the Corona del Mar State and
27 City Beach Park.
28 This resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the
