A RESOLWI011 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
921PORT BEACH RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 4516
WHICH ESTABLISHED RESILIE'NC'E REQUIREMENTS FOR
CIVIL S',RVIC 'ss• EMPLOYEES
It
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 866 provides that Civil Service
Rules and Regulations shall be adopted by motion of the City
Council on recommendation of the Civil Service Board after approval
by the City Attorney; and
VqI=AS, in a memorandum dated February 5, 1959, the
Civil Service Board has recommended after approval by the City
Attorney that the City Council adopt Civil Service Rule IV, 4.6
establishing residence requirements for civil service personnel;
and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 4516 sets forth a civil service
residence requirement in conflict with the rule proposed by the
Civil Service Board;
NOrl, THMEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolution No. 4510'
be rescinded effective February 24, 1959.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 24th day of
February, 1959, by the following vote, to wit:

of the City of Newport Beach filed and maintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution No. 4932 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 24th day of February 9 19 599 by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hart, Lorenz, Somers,. Kingsley,
Atkinson, Higbie, Stoddard
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None
