2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
• 3 CONTRACT WITH THE COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT
OF ORANGE COUNTY FOR_SEWAGE TRANSMISSION

5 WHEREAS, an area of the City lying easterly of Irvine
6 Avenue in the Upper Bay area can more conveniently and efficiently
7 be served by a sewer line along Irvine Avenue from 23rd Street
8 southerly to 21st Street belonging to the Costa Mesa Sanitary
9 District of Orange County.- and
10l WHEREAS, a contract has been prepared under which said
11 Sanitary District agrees to receive sewage from said area of the
12! City more particularly described in said contract in its sewer
13 line at Irvine Avenue and 22nd Street with a term of twenty -five.
14 years or a term of fifty years if the additional length of term
15 is approved by a majority of the electors of City in 1961 or 1962;
16 and
17 WHEREAS, the City Council has examined the provisions of
1811 said contract and found them to be fair and equitable and in the
1911 interest.of the City;
20f N0Ws THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
21 Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
22 contract on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
