RESOLUTION NO. 5359
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL.OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
CONTRACT-WITH THEIRVINE COMPANY FOR THE INSTAL-
LATION OF & WATER PIPELINE
WHEREAS, The Irvine Company is one of the owners of
land in the West Bluff area of the City which is now in the
process of development; and
WHEREAS, in connection with said development it will be
necessary for The Irvine Company and the subdividers of said land
to install a water pipeline to serve said area; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the pipeline to be in-
stalled along a proposed street presently designated as Santiago
Drive be a 12 -inch pipeline rather than an 8rinch pipeline in
order that said line may serve as a part of the "Upper Bay Loop4°;
and
WHEREAS, a contract has been prepared under which the
City will furnish the material for a 12 -inch pipeline and under
which Irvine assumes the obligation of paying the City the amount
it would pay for material for an 8--inch line and of installing
said 12 -inch line in place; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interests of the City to execute
said contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
contract on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
