RESOLUTION NO. 5554
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS
TO FILE WRITTEN ARGUMENTS FOR A CITY M.ASURE
WHEREAS, an election is to be held in the City of Newport)
Beach on April 100 1962, at which there will be submitted to the
qualified electors of said city the following city measure:
PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT: Shall Section 415 of the
Charter be amended to confirm the authority of the City to
revise, recompile, recodify and index the Newport Beach
Municipal Code and adopt the same by reference by the
passage of an ordinance for that purpose?
NOW, 'rdEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, (DETERMINE AND ORDER as
follows:
14 Section 1. That this City Council, being the legislative
15 body of the City of Newport Beach, hereby authorizes Charles E.
16 Hart, Hans J. Lorenz, Harvey Somers, Kenneth C. Kingsley, J. Frank
17 Atkinson, P. D. Cook, and James B. Stoddard, members of said body,
18 to file written arguments for the city measure set forth in the
19 recitals hereof in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division
20 4 of the Elections Code of the State of California of 1961, and to
21 change said arguments until and including the date fixed by the
22 City Clerk after which no arguments for or against said city
23 measure may be submitted to her.
