RESOLUTION) 140. 5555
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIM CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING A PUBLIC ROAD CONNECTION
3 TO MC.ARTHUR BOULEVARD, A DECLARED FREEWAY

5 WHEREAS, MacArthur Boulevard is a declared freeway by
6 the California Highway Commission; and
7 WHEREAS, Ford Road is a private road in the City of
8 Newport Beach running from MacArthur Boulevard to Jamboree Road
9 and it should be a dedicated public road; and
10 WHEREAS, it is necessary to obtain approval of the
11 California highway Commission for a public road connection to a
12. declared freeway;
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the California High -
14 way Commission be and is hereby requested to grant an 84 -foot width
15 public road connection to Mac Arthur Boulevard, State Highway Route
16 184, a declared freeway, on the westerly side thereof at Station
17 233.1.50 where a private 60 -foot width access opening now exists.
18 Such public road connection is understood to be a connection only
19 to the existing roadway and disposition of such connection at the
20 time the State Highway is constructed to freeway standards will be
21 subject to the terms and conditions of a future agreement between
22 the City of Newport Beach and the State of California regarding
23 construction of the Route 184 Freeway.
