A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
2 NEWPORT BEACP REgUESTINO PUBLIC ROAD CONNECTIONS
TO MAC ARTHUR BOULEVARD. A DECLARED.FREEWAY

411 WHEREAS, MacArthur Boulevard is a declared freeway by
5 the California.Highway Commission; and
6 WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors adopted.
7 Resolution No. 62 -1345 on November 13, 1962, requesting the consent
8 of the California State Highway Commission for two public road con -
9 nections to be known as Crosstown Road and Bonita Canyon Road to the
10 easterly side of the state highway known as MacArthur Boulevard;
11 and
121 WHE REA S, the City is contemplating the revision of its
13 Master Plan of streets and highways which will provide for the
14 11 connection of major highways to the westerly side of MacArthur
1511 Boulevard at these same two locations; and
1611 WHEREAS, it is necessary to obtain approval of the Cal-
1711fornia HighE?ay Commission for public road connections to declared

freeways;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the California High-
Tway '.omission be and is hereby requested to grant 120 -foot wide
public road connections to MacArthur Boulevard, State Highway Route
1€34, a declared freeway, on the westerly side thereof at approxi-
mately State Highway Engineer's Stations 175+89 and 157 +90. Such
public road connections are understood to be connections only to
the existing roadway and dispositionof such connections at tine time
the State Highway is constructed to freeway standards will be subjec.
to the terms and conditions of a future agreement between the City
of Newport Beach and the State of California regarding construction
of the Route 184 Freeway.
