2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF.A
3 CONTRACT WITH THE IRVINE COMPANY FOR THE DEDICA�
41 TION AND Yl0ROVEMENT OF FORD ROAD
5 WHEREAS, a private road known as Ford Road connects
6 MacArthur Boulevard and Jamboree Road along the southerly boundary
7 of the Ford Aeronutronic plant site in the City of Newport Beach;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, the City has requested and the California Highwa
10 Commission has granted a permit for a public road connection at the
11 intersection of said Ford Road and MacArthur Boulevard conditioned
12 upon the dedication of Ford Road between Jamboree Road and Mac
13 Arthur Boulevard for public use; and
14 WHEREAS, a contract has been prepared between the City of
15 Newport Beach and The Irvine Company which provides for the dedica-
16 tion to the City of Ford Road within ninety (90) days from the date
17 of the contract and for construction of the street improvements and
18 payment therefor in the manner set out therein; and
19 WHEREAS, the City Council has examined the terms of said
20 contract and found them to be fair and to the mutual advantage of
21 the parties;
22 NOG+, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
23 Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of
24 the City of Newport Beach,
25 ADOPTED this 27th day of January, 1964.
