HomeMy WebLinkAbout6531 - Grant of Easement for Electrical Facilities• �tec 3/ 57 (12) r 1 RESOLUTION NO. 6531 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A 3 GRANT OF EASEMENT TO.SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY FOR ELECTRICAL FACILITIES 4 5 1MEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is the owner of 6 certain property southerly of Industrial iday between Superior Avenue 7 and Newport Boulevard, commonly known as the City Corporation Yard; 8 . and 9 TN1EREAS, it is necessary for the Southern California 10 Edison Company to have an easement over a portion of said property 11 for electrical facilities to serve certain buildings located thereof 12 and 13 L , there has been presented to the City Council of 14 the City of Newport Beach a Grant of Easement by which the City 15 would grant to Southern California Edison Company, a corporation, 16 its successors and assigns, an easement and right of way to con- 17 struct, lay, install, use, maintain, alter, add to, repair, replace 18 inspect and /or remove, at any time and from time to time, aerial 19 and underground electric lines and communication lines, consisting 20 of poles, guys and anchors, crossarms, wires, cables, conduits, 21 manholes, vaults, pull boxes, markers and other fixtures and appli- 22 ances, for conveying electric energy to be used for light, heat, 23 power, telephone and /or other related uses, in, on, over, under and 24 through that certain real property in the City of Newport Beach, 25 County of Orange, State of California, described as follows: 26, A strip of land, 12 feet in width, lying within Lot 169 in Block 2, of Irvinets Subdivision, as per map recorded in 27 Book 1, page.88, of Miscellaneous Naps, in the office of the Recorder of said County, the centerline being described 28 as follows: 29 Beginning at a point in the southeasterly line of Superior Avenue, as now established, said point being 30 75 feet northeasterly, measured along said southeast® erly line, from the northeasterly line of the land 31 described in the deed to Hughes Aircraft Company, recorded April 8, 1966, as Document No. 5273, in Book 32 7894, page 763, of Official Records,in the office of 1 ^w LR 0 0 1 2 3 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 t the County Recorder of said County; thence southerly, to a point being 50 feet southeasterly and 6 feet north- easterly, measured at right angles, respectively, from said southeasterly and said northeasterly line; thence, southeasterly parallel with said northeasterly line, a distance of 610 feet, subject to certain conditions set out therein; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the execu- tion of the Grant of Easement would be in the mutual interest of the parties concerned; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Grant of Easement on behalf of the City of Newport Beach and deliver the same to the grantee.
