RESOLUTION NO. 6540
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF COSTA MESA TO
SHARE THE COSTS OF MAINTENANCE OF A TRAFFIC
CONTROL SIGNAL
WHEREAS, the Cities of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach
Jointly installed an electric traffic control signal at the inter-
section of Westcliff Drive - Seventeenth Street and Irvine Avenue,
which is on the border of and serves traffic from both cities; and
WHEREAS, the cities desire to establish their respective
rights and obligations concerning the payment of energy costs, j
luminaire costs, and maintenance costs; and
W7HEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach an agreement with the City of Costa Mesa
providing that the energy costs, luminaire costs and maintenance
costs of such traffic signal shall be shared equally by the cities
commencing with the fiscal year 1965 -66; and
0 EREAS, the City Council has considered the terms and
conditions of said agreement and found them to be reasonable and
equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE9 BE IT RESOLVED that said agreement is
approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed
to execute the same on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
ADOPTED this 27th day of March , 1967.
