HomeMy WebLinkAbout6636 - Air Traffic Advisory Committee10 THS :mec 11/22/67 N RESOLUTION N0. 6636 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE AIR TRAFFIC ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND DESIGNATING BASIC GUIDE LINES FOR THE OPERATION AND FUNCTIONING OF SAID COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the Orange County Airport is located adjacent to the northerly boundary of the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, air traffic approaching and leaving the air- port passes over the City of Newport Beach at low altitudes; and WHEREAS, the City and its residents are vitally con- cerned with the future growth and development of the airport; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is advisable to establish a committee to act in an advisory capacity to it on airport matters; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. The Air Traffic Advisory Committee is hereby es- tablished which shall be composed of five qualified electors of the City appointed by the City Council. 2. The powers and duties of the Air Traffic Advisory Committee shall be as follows: (a) To inform itself on all plans for the future development and use of the Orange County Airport. (b) To advise the City Council on all airport and air traffic matters which could affect the City of New- port Beach and to make recommendations to the City Council when Council action on such matters is determined to be necessary or desirable. (c) To serve as an investigatory body with re- spect to complaints from citizens regarding problems created by air traffic over the City and to follow up with any pub- lic relations type contacts with citizens that may be desir- able, r1 L-j 3e The City Manager, or his designated representative, will act as secretary to the committee and will report to the City Council on the activities of the committee.
