HomeMy WebLinkAbout7120 - Detachment of Uninhabited TerritoryRESOLUTION NO., 7120 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CONSENTING TO THE DETACHMENT OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY SO THAT SAID TERRITORY MAY BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa has requested by Resolution No. 69 -82 adopted on the 2nd day of December, 1969, that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach consent to the detachment of certain uninhabited territory from the City of Newport Beach so that said territory may be annexed to the City of Costa Mesa; and WHEREAS, said property is located on the west side of Whittier Avenue, south of West 19th Street, and known as the Whittier Heights Annexation, as shown on a map attached hereto and by this reference made a part of this.resolution; and WHEREAS, this City Council after consideration of the proposed detachment and annexation has determined that it would be in the public interest to approve said detachment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED pursuant to the pro- visions of Section 35304 of the California Government Code that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach.hereby consents to the detachment of the above described territory from the City of Newport Beach and to its annexation to the City of Costa Mesa subject to the condition that there be a dedication of a right - of -way one hundred (100) feet in width for street purposes for the future widening of West 19th Street, to comply with the Master Street and Highway Plan of the City of Newport Beach and subject to the further condition that said detachment shall not affect the one -foot wide strip of City of Newport Beach territory -1- which adjoins the territory to be detached. ADOPTED this 12th day of January, 1970.
