A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH CHANGING THE NAMES OF TUSTIN
AVENUE AND ACACIA STREET TO "IRVINE AVENUE"
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Newport Beach has recommended to the City Council the changing
of the names of certain streets in the City of Newport Beach
which prior to recent arterial highway construction were
separate but are now one continuous thoroughfare; and
WHEREAS, Section 34091.1 of the Government Code of
the State of California authorizes the legislative body to
change the name of any city street by adoption of a resolution;
and
WHEREAS, after consideration of said recommendation
it appears that it would be in the interests of the City and
convenient to the public to change the names of Tustin Avenue
and Acacia Street, between Cliff Drive and the future Corona del
Mar Freeway, near the southerly corner of Orange County Airport,
to "Irvine Avenue ", as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the names of those certain portions
of Tustin Avenue and Acacia Street, between Cliff Drive and the
future Corona del Mar Freeway near the southerly corner of Orange
County Airport, as shown on the drawing designated "Street Name
Change, Irvine Avenue - Tustin Avenue - Acacia Street ", a copy of
which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and by this reference
incorporated herein and made a part hereof, be changed to "Irvine
Avenue ".

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed
• to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of
• Supervisors of Orange County in accordance with the provisions
of Section 34092 of the Government Code.
ADOPTED this 17th day of May, 1971.
