Brown, City Clerk <br />APPROVED: -.ia A <br />TITLE: APPOINTMENTS TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY AFFAIRS <br />COMMITTEE (EQAC) AND THE WATER QUALITY /COASTAL <br />TIDELANDS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE <br />ABSTRACT: <br />On November 27, 2012, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2012 -115 which <br />established the Water Quality /Coastal Tidelands Management Committee and adopted <br />Resolution No. 2012 -116 which established the Environmental Quality Affairs <br />Committee (EQAC). The City Council directed that appointments to both committees <br />would occur in January 2013. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />a) Waive the portions of Council Policy A -2 (Board and Commission Appointments) <br />which establishes a Council Ad Hoc Appointments Committee and requires two <br />or more applications for each vacant seat. <br />b) Consider the applications received in the City Clerk's Office by the January 9, <br />2013 deadline. <br />c -1) Make appointments via paper ballot to EQAC and the Water Quality /Coastal <br />Tidelands Management Committee pursuant to City Council Policy A -2. OR <br />c -2) Postpone appointments until more applications are received. <br />FUNDING REQUIREMENTS: <br />There is no fiscal impact related to this item. <br />
