A RESOLUTION OF.THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ACCEPTING THE ENVIRONMENTAL
IMPACE REPORT IN CONNECTION WITH PHASE II OF
THE VERSAILLES -ON- THE - BLUFFS DEVELOPMENT AND
DETERMINING THAT A USE PERMIT SHOULD BE
• ISSUED
WHEREAS, the developer of the Versailles -on- the - Bluffs
Phase II condominium development has submitted to the Department
of Community Development an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) in
connection with this project; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Director has re-
viewed the report for sufficiency and substance, examined the
findings, and has made such recommendations for conditions as
were deemed necessary either to mitigate undesirable impact or
reduce that impact to acceptable levels; and
WHEREAS, a use permit is necessary for construction of
Phase II of the subject project under the applicable conditions
of the planned community development standards; and
WHEREAS, on January 22, 1973, the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach held public hearings to consider and take
testimony relative to said EIR, as well as for the purpose of
granting a use permit to construct Phase II of said project;
and
WHEREAS, after considering the EIR and use permit ap-
plication and the supporting evidence presented at said hearings,
the City Council finds that the EIR is satisfactory and should
be adopted as the City's EIR in connection with this project,
and that the use permit should be issued; and
WHEREAS, on the basis of the evidence presented and the
content of the EIR, the City Council has determined that the EIR
• complies with the intent and criteria as set forth in the En-
vironmental Quality Act of 1970 (Sections 21100, et seq. of the
California Public Resources Code as amended), as well as the Guide-

lines for Requirement of Environmental Impact Statements as
adopted by the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that additional
conditions to approval of the use permit and EIR to protect the
• environment or to either mitigate undesirable impact or reduce
that impact to acceptable levels are unnecessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that it hereby accepts and adopts as
the City's the EIR filed by the developer in connection with
Phase II of the Versailles -on- the - Bluffs project, as being suf-
ficient and in compliance with all state and local laws and
guidelines;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the use permit to construct
Phase II of the Versailles project should be issued.
