RESOLUTION NO. 29 12
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 7691 TO DELETE FROM COUNCIL AD HOC .
COMMITTEES THE FREEWAY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
AND TO ADD TO COUNCIL AD HOC COMMITTEES THE
NEWLY CREATED CHARTER REVISION CITIZENS
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7691 provides that all
standing and ad hoc committees of the City Council shall
be established by resolution; and
WHEREAS, on December 18, 1972, the City Council
created a Citizens Advisory Charter Revision Committee; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has abolished the Free-
way Affairs Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby deletes the Freeway Af-
fairs Committee from the list of Council ad hoc committees,
and hereby adds the Charter Revision Citizens Advisory Com-
mittee to said list, with the following duties and composition:
A. To receive recommendations, and upon its own
initiative, review and consider the need for modifications
to the City Charter.
B. To report to the City Council within sixty days
after its formation regarding the need for possible revisions,
and a recommended timetable for implementation, if such revisions
are deemed advisable.
C. Seven citizens shall be appointed by the Council
to serve on this committee, with each Councilman nominating
one person at large, and two Councilmen shall be appointed as
ex officio members.
