A RESOLUTION OF
CITY OF NEWPORT
ENFORCEMENT AND
HEALTH OFFICER
BEACH OF HEALTH
AND REGULATIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
BEACH CONSENTING TO THE
OBSERVANCE BY THE COUNTY
CN THE CITY OF NEWPORT
AND SAFETY CODE RULES
RELATING TO PUBLIC HEALTH
WHEREAS, the Orange County Health Department has
• given notice of termination of the agreement between the County
and the City of Newport Beach for the enforcement of City
health ordinances by the County Health Officer, to be effective
July 1, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of such notice of termination is
to allow for the renegotiation of City- County health contracts,
with the intent of the County being to discontinue services
which include the control of vectors, which after July 1 will
be the responsibility of the Orange County Mosquito Abatement
District under the terms of a separate agreement; and
WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 476 provides
that in the event a city consents by resolution, the County
Health Officers must enforce state laws and regulations relating
to public health within such City, and the City Council has
determined that it would be in the best interests of the public
health and safety to do so;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, pursuant to
Health and Safety Code Section 476, the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach hereby consents to the enforcement and
observance by the County Health Officer in the City of Newport
Beach of orders, quarantine regulations and rules prescribed by
the State Department of Health; other rules and regulations
issued under the provisions of the Health and Safety Code; and
statutes relating to the public health.
