RESOLUTION NO. 8218
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING NEW
BOARDING CHARGES FOR IMPOUNDED FOWL AND
ANIMALS, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 7214
WHEREAS, Section 7.16.030 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that daily charges shall be made for
boarding any bird, fowl, dog, cat, or other animal impounded
under the provisions of the Code and that such charge shall be
established by the City Council by resolution; and
WHEREAS, following a study conducted by the staff,
the City Council has determined that the daily boarding charges
established by Resolution No. 7214 should be increased to
compensate for a general increase in operating expenses, and
that such increase would be fair and eVitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the following daily charges
are established as boarding charges for impounded birds, fowl,
dogs, cats, and other animals:
(1) $2.50 per day for all animals weighing
twenty -five pounds or less;
(2) $3.00 per day for all animals weighing
twenty -five to sixty pounds; and
(3) $4.00 per day for all animals weighing
over sixty pounds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 7214 is
hereby rescinded.
ADOPTED this 25th day of March, 1974.
