A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE AMENDMENT TO
THE AGREEMENT NEGOTIATED BY REPRESENTATIVES
OF THE NEWPORT BEACH OCEAN LIFEGUARD ASSOCIA-
TION AND THE CITY REPRESENTATIVE
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7173 of the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach provides that the City Representative
and representatives of the recognized employee associations
will meet and confer in good faith regarding matters within the
scope of ::representation; and
WHEREAS, in May, 1973, the City negotiated a two -year
contract with the Newport Beach Ocean Lifeguard Association;
and
WHEREAS, recent salary adjustments in other jurisdictions
have made a reevaluation of that contract desirable and necessary;
and
WHEREAS, an amendment to that agreement negotiated in
May, 1973, has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, the City Representative and the representatives
of the Newport Beach Ocean Lifeguard Association have jointly
recommended approval of this amended agreement by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach does hereby approve the amendment to
the agreement referred to above.
