RESOLUTION NO. 8416
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH, THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AND
THE ORANGE COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT,
ESTABLISHING THE SANTA ANA RIVER FLOOD
PROTECTION AGENCY
WHEREAS, the County of Orange and the Orange County
Flood Control District have presented a joint powers agreement
establishing the Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency for
the joint exercise of powers for flood protection, conservation
and control of storm and flood waters, protection of the health,
safety, welfare and property along the Santa Ana River; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the terms and
conditions of said agreement and have found them to be fair and
equitable and in the best interest of the City of Newport Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby authorizes the Mayor and
City Clerk to execute a joint powers agreement establishing the
Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency.
