RESOLUTION NO. 8425
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING ONE -WAY STREETS
(NEWPORT SHORES AREA), AND REPEALING RESOLUTION
NO. 8185
WHEREAS, Section 12.52.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this
City designates any one -way street or alley, the City Traffic
Engineer shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof,
and Section 12.52.020 of the Municipal Code provides that
when signs are erected on any one -way street or alley giving
notice thereof, no person shall drive, or park, any vehicle
in a direction contrary thereto; and
WHEREAS, the streets hereinafter described are
streets which should be designated as one -way streets in order
to facilitate the flow of traffic and eliminate traffic hazards;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the following streets in the
Newport Shores Area are hereby designated as one -way streets,
in the areas and directions noted:
Cedar Street in a southwesterly direction
Colton Street in a southwesterly direction
Lugonia Street in a northeasterly direction
Walnut Street in a northeasterly direction
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer
is authorized and directed to appropriately sign or mark said
streets to indicate the above designations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 8185 is
hereby repealed.
ADOPTED this 27th day of January, 1975.
