.Ik <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8676 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING THE LAND <br />USE AND RESIDENTIAL GROWTH ELEMENTS OF <br />THE NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL PLAN IN THE <br />"COUNTY TRIANGLE" (AMENDMENT NO. 33) <br />• <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the Land Use <br />and Residential Growth Elements of the Newport Beach General <br />Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, said Land Use and Residential Growth <br />Elements set forth objectives and supporting policies which <br />will serve as a guide for the future planning and development <br />of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the land generally designated and referred <br />to as the "County Triangle" as shown on attached plat marked <br />Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference, is <br />unincorporated territory, but is completely surrounded by the <br />City of Newport Beach, and the City of Newport Beach has a vital <br />interest in the planning and development of said area as <br />development of said area will significantly and vitally effect <br />the City; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 65306 of the Government <br />Code, the County of Orange has referred to the City for <br />information and comment, a proposed General Plan change in the <br />"County Triangle "area. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the Charter of <br />the City of Newport Beach, the Planning Commission has held a <br />public hearing to consider an amendment to the Land Use and <br />Residential Growth Elements of the Newport Beach General Plan, <br />which amendments would change the land use designation of <br />• that portion of the "County Triangle" generally lying northwesterly <br />
