HomeMy WebLinkAbout8694 - Amendment 31 - Aeronutronic-Ford Site• • • RESOLUTION NO. 8694 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH REVISING THE LAND USE AND RESIDENTIAL GROWTH ELEMENTS OF THE NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL PLAN FOR THE AERONUTRONIC -FORD SITE (Amendment No. 31) WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a Land Use Element and a Residential Growth Element of the Newport Beach General Plan; and WHEREAS, said Elements set forth objectives and supporting policies which will serve as a guide for the future planning and development of the City; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the City Charter of the City of Newport Beach, the Planning Commission has held a public hearing to consider an amendment to the Land Use and Residential Growth Elements to revise the land use designations in the undeveloped portion of the Aeronutronic -Ford Site to add additional uses; which amendment sets forth the following changes: 1) The Land Use Plan and Residential Growth Plan (maps) be amended to change the designation of the undeveloped portion of the Aeronutronic -Ford Site to include "General Industry ", Administrative, Professional and Financial" and "Residential" as alternate possible uses. 2) The following wording be added to page 22 of the Land Use Element: "In view of the potential adverse traffic impacts which may result from development in the areas adjacent to the Aeronutronic - Ford facility, the P -C District develop- ment application will be required to incorporate a development phasing approach, and other use, intensity, design and operational measures as required to assure that the traffic generated by the development will not cause an adverse impact. Any proposal for development shall include an environmental impact report which shall cover, in addition to other requirements, a marketing analysis, a cost /revenue analysis, an analysis of the relationship of the jobs in the • area to the living location of the employees, and the effect on air traffic." WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended • to the City Council said amendment to the Land Use and Residential Growth Elements of the Newport Beach General Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing to consider said amendment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby adopt General Plan Amendment No. 31 as described hereinabove.
