WHEREAS, the State Water Resources Control Board
has conditionally designated the Southern California Associa-
tion of Governments as the "208" water quality agency for
the South Coast Area;.and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is vitally concerned
with the maintenance of water quality in the Region and,
particularly, in the Newport Bay water sheds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is a member agency
of the Newport- Irvine Waste - Management Planning Agency;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the City of Newport Beach
urges the Southern California Association of Governments
Executive Committee to include Newport - Irvine Waste - Management
Planning Agency as a full voting member of the proposed "208"
Program Management Committee, or any committee which may be
designated to oversee the "208" Planning Program;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach requests that the City of Newport Beach,
when appropriate, be designated as one of the City representatives
on the "208" Program Management Committee.

CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH URGING THAT THE
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERN-
MENTS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE INCLUDE NEWPORT-
IRVINE WASTE - MANAGEMENT PLANNING AGENCY AS
A FULL VOTING MEMBER ON THE SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS 11208"
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE, AND THAT WHEN
APPROPRIATE, THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH BE

DESIGNATED AS ONE OF THE CITY REPRESENTATIVES
ON THE 11208" PROGRAM MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.
