RESOLUTION NO. 8785
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING AN ALLOWANCE
OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS PER MONTH TO
THE MAYOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 404 OF
THE CHARTER
WHEREAS, Section 404 of the City Charter provides
that in addition to the payment for expenses as a Councilman
under Section 402 B, the City Council may provide by resolution
for the payment to the Mayor of an allowance of not exceeding
One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per month to reimburse
him for the additional expenses incurred by him in serving as
Mayor; and
WHEREAS, on April 20, 1976, the City Council appointed
a new Mayor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of paying the
Mayor the sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per month
as provided for in Section 404 of the Charter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the Mayor be allowed the sum
of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per month, adjusted
annually in accordance with the Consumer Price Index, during his
term as Mayor, beginning April 21, 1976, to reimburse him for
the additional demands made upon him and expenses incurred by
him in serving as Mayor, in accordance with Section 404 of the
Newport Beach City Charter.
ADOPTED this 14th day of June 1976.
