A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING CERTAIN PARTIES
AS BICYCLE LICENSING AGENCIES OR AGENTS, AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 8445
WHEREAS, Section 12.56.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that the Chief of Police may recommend
for designation by the City Council any person or persons to be
a bicycle licensing agency or agent; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended that:

be authorized to issue bicycle licenses for the City of Newport
Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered said recommen-
dation and found it to be reasonable and in the best interests
of the City; and
WHEREAS, on February 24, 1975, the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 8445, establishing certain persons to be bicycle
licensing agents with the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now wishes to add to the
authorized list of bicycle licensing agents;
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that:
1. Newport Beach Fire Department
2. Sea Schwinn, 420 E. 17th St., Costa Mesa
3. John's Bicycles, 1712 Newport Blvd., Costa Mesa

4. Balboa Bicycles, 2000 W. Balboa Blvd., Newport Beach
5. Newport Cyclery, 2116 Newport Blvd., Newport Beach
6. Beach Bicycles, 806 E. Balboa Blvd., Newport Beach
7. Beach Mopeds, 3635 E. Coast Hwy., Corona del Mar
8. Mo -Ped City, 2906 W. Coast Hwy., Newport Beach
9. The Mo- Peddler, 6470 W. Coast Hwy., Newport Beach
• are hereby designated as bicycle licensing agencies or agents for
the City of Newport Beach. The bicycle licensing authority shall
vest in these agencies or agents until revokable by action of the
City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 8445 is
hereby rescinded.
ADOPTED this 10th day of January 1977.
