A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH TERMINATING THE JOINT POWERS
AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE SANTA ANA RIVER
AND SANTIAGO CREEK GREENBELT COMMISSION AND
APPROVING THE GREENBELT IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has entered into
a joint powers agreement for the establishment of the Santa Ana
River and Santiago Creek Greenbelt Commission ( "Commission ");
and
WHEREAS, a primary purpose of the Commission was to
prepare a plan for the appropriate use of land in the project
area; and
WHEREAS, the Commission has developed the Greenbelt
Implementation Plan which accomplishes the desired objectives
of the Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is on record in support of
approval of the Greenbelt Implementation Plan; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 17 of the joint powers
agreement, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach wishes
to terminate said agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby terminates the joint powers
agreement creating the Santa Ana River and Santiago Creek Greenbelt
Commission dated March 14, 1973, effective on or about March 1, 1977,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council approves of
• the Greenbelt Implementation Plan for adoption and execution.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is
instructed to transmit copies of this resolution to each of the
current members of the Greenbelt Commission, to the Auditor -
Controller, County of Orange and to the Santa Ana River and
Santiago Creek Greenbelt Commission office.
