A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF
AN APPLICATION TO THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
• ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS (SCAG) REQUESTING
S.B. 821 FACILITY FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
COAST HIGHWAY BIKEWAY ADJACENT TO BAYSHORES

WHEREAS, through Senate Bill 821, there is available
for Orange County cities from the fiscal year 1977 -78 Local
Transportation Fund, $420,000 for the development of bikeway
and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of
Governments has been designated as the delegating agency for
these funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is desirous of
constructing a Coast Highway Bikeway adjacent to Bayshores
(between Dover Drive and the Balboa Bay Club);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby authorize the City
Manager or his representative to apply to the Southern California
Association of Governments for said funds for which the City
of Newport Beach is eligible;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds allocated to the
City of Newport Beach through said application shall be used for
the construction of the Coast Highway Bikeway adjacent to
Bayshores.
