RESOLUTION NO. 9036
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN
SAID CITY ON MARCH 8, 1977
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby find,
determine, and declare as follows:
a. That pursuant to applicable law, a special
election was held and conducted in said City on the
8th day of March, 1977, and
b. That said election was held and conducted in
conformity with all applicable provisions of law; and
C. That said special election was held for the
purpose of submitting to the voters of said City the
following bond proposition, to -wit:
Shall the City of Newport Beach acquire
land for open space and make minimum improve-
ments on park sites by incurring a bonded in-
debtedness in the principal sum of Seven
Million One Hundred Thousand Dollars, of which
approximately 90% would be used for land acqui-
sition and the remainder for park improvements,
and all expenses incidental to or connected
with the authorization, issuance and sale of
the bonds?
d. That pursuant to direction of the City Council
the Registrar of Voters has heretofore conducted a
canvass of the results thereof and has filed with said
City Council a certificate relating thereto which has
been examined and is hereby accepted by this City
Council.

SECTION 2. That the Statement of Election Results
relating to said special election is attached hereto as
Exhibit "A ", and by this reference incorporated herein.
SECTION 3. That the City Council does hereby accept
the canvass of record of said special election as certified
by said Registrar of Voters and does hereby declare that the
vote of less than two - thirds of all the voters voting at
said election upon the bond proposition were cast in favor
of the adoption of said bond proposition and said bond
proposition is hereby declared to have failed.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk is hereby directed
to enter this resolution in full in the minutes of this City
Council, which entry shall constitute the City Clerk's
statement of the result of the election.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify the
adoption of this resolution.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 28th day of March, 1977.
