A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH REMOVING THE PROHIBITION OF
PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE 900 BLOCK OF
BALBOA BOULEVARD BETWEEN "A" AND "B" STREETS
IN CONNECTION WITH THE CITY'S STREET SWEEPING
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Section 12.44.150 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that the City Council shall by resolution
designate streets or portions of streets on which the parking
or standing of vehicles is to be prohibited, and shall designate
in the resolution the days of the week and the exact hours during
which such prohibition shall be in effect; and
WHEREAS on August 25, 1975,the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 8583, prohibiting the parking of vehicles on
the 900 Block of Balboa Boulevard on Mondays from 5:00 A.M.
to 8:00 A.M. between "A" Street and "B" Street; and
WHEREAS, upon recommendation by the Traffic Affairs
Committee, the City Council has determined that it is reasonable
and in the public interest to no longer restrict parking of
vehicles on the 900 Block of Balboa Boulevard on Mondays from
5:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. between "A" Street and "B" Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that parking of vehicles shall no
longer be prohibited on the 900 Blcok of Balboa Boulevard
on Mondays from 5:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. between "A" Street and
"B" Street;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer
is hereby authorized and directed to remove signs or mark said
area in order to indicate the removal of said parking prohibition.
