RESOLUTION NO. 9241
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING LOCATIONS WHERE
RIDING A BICYCLE ON THE SIDEWALK IS PERMITTED
WHEREAS, Section 12.56.140 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code allows the City Council to designate by
resolution specific sidewalks where bicycle riding is permitted;
and
WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Bikeways Committee
has recommended that an additional fourteen locations be added
to the list where riding bicycles on the sidewalk is presently
allowed; and
WHEREAS, said locations have been reviewed and
approved by the Traffic Affairs Committee and are as follows:
Bayside Drive Park - Carnation Avenue to
Larkspur Avenue
Campus Drive - South Side - Teller Avenue to Jamboree
Road
Coast Highway - Both Sides - Newport Boulevard to
Superior Avenue
Coast Highway - North Side - Superior Avenue to 57th
Street (Projected)
Coast Highway - South Side - 57th Street (Projected) to
Greenville- Banning Channel
Coast Highway - North Side - Bayside Drive to Upper
Bay Bridge
Ford Road -
South Side
- 900 feet east of Newport
Hills Drive West to San
Miguel Drive
Jamboree Road -
West Side
- Eastbluff Drive (North) to
Bristol Street
Jamboree Blvd. -
West Side
- Bristol Street to Campus
Drive

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the above described locations
are hereby designated as locations where riding a bicycle on the
sidewalk is permitted.
ADOPTED this 12th day of December , 1977.
