A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING FEES FOR COPYING
PUBLIC RECORDS PURSUANT TO SECTION 6257 OF THE
CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE

WHEREAS, Section 6257 of the California Government
Code provides a local agency may establish a fee to copy an
identifiable public record, which fee shall not exceed the
actual cost of providing the copy; and
WHEREAS, the fees set forth hereinafter represent
the actual cost to the City of Newport Beach in providing
copies of identifiable public records,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the following fees are
established as the fees to be charged for providing copies of
identifiable public records maintained by the City of Newport
Beach. Said fees are as follows:
ATTEST:

A. For all Departments, excluding Fire and Police:
$.50 for the first page and $.15 for each page
thereafter;
B. For Fire and Police Departments:
$3.00 per report, regardless of the number of
pages;
C. Records not readily retrievable, records
requiring extensive review or research or
records requiring reproduction from multip
files:
The actual hourly rate of the person doing the
research and copying, plus a 20% overhead charge.
