A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING A MEMBER AND
ALTERNATE MEMBER TO THE SANTIAGO LIBRARY
SYSTEM LAY ADVISORY BOARD
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is a member of
the Santiago Library System; and
WHEREAS, the California Library Services Act of 1977
requires that each cooperative library system establish a lay
advisory board consisting of as many members as there are
member jurisdictions in the system; and
WHEREAS, the Newport Beach Board of Library Trustees
has recommended Mrs. Robert E. Hilchey as a member of the
Santiago Library System Lay Advisory Board and Richard
McFarland as an alternate member; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed this
recommendation and finds it to be appropriate,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby appoint Mzs. Robert E.
Hilchey as a member of the Santiago Library System Lay
Advisory Board and Richard McFarland as an alternate
member.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said appointeees are
representatives of the public -at -large and of the underserved
residents iri the system service area pursuant to Section 18710(s)
of the Act.
ADOPTED this 26th day of March 1979.
